Lithec GmbH was established in 1994 and is now located in Bavaria/Germany. For nearly twenty years we have been developing color measurement and control technology for the printing industry, with a large share of the measuring devices for KBA AG. Until now, about 1700 large devices have been delivered. Core products are the LithoScan Professional and LithoScan Basic (KBA brand names “Densitronic professional” and “Densitronic basic”). LithoScan Basic is our classic and least expensive aid for quality assurance in the press room. It provides all necessary features for the measurement and control of process and spot colors in color bars. LithoScan Professional, a spectral measuring device, offers even more possibilities: More flexibility for measuring color bars and spectral readings within the image. Today almost 60% of all KBA presses are equipped with a LithoScan professional.LithoScan Prof. can be equipped with a PDF scanner attachment for your geometric inspection tasks. The inspection software compares the scanned image with a PDF file from prepress. It checks for deviations for example in line thickness, dots and scratches as small as approx. 85 micrometer (0,085 mm). All these spots get clearly marked and will be evaluated by the operator or quality manager.Starting in 2012 the densitometrical inline measurement system “LithoFlash – Inline” has become available. Innovative measurement technology and LithoDyn ADR (dynamic control) as a standard will significantly reduce make ready time and waste. Starting as a retrofit for KBA presses, it will also be available for presses of other manufacturers in the near future. There are also many options and upgrade possibilities which can help even older presses to achieve a much higher level of productivity.
